Mainstream media suffers backlashes from tried-and-true American wisdom.
CNN’s integrity dropping among public.
Host angers Hindu-Americans by eating human brain in documentary.
CNN suddenly decided to terminate a Muslim commentator and drop his program on their network after calling President Donald J. Trump a “piece of sh-t” on Twitter. When the president tweeted last week about his proposed travel ban following the London terror attack, CNN’s Reza Aslan responded, “This piece of sh-t is not just an embarrassment to America and a stain on the presidency. He’s an embarrassment to humankind.”
According to the Media Research Center, CNN was “bombarded” “with over 7,300 phone calls encouraging them to sever ties with Reza Aslan – the man CNN calls a ‘religious scholar’ and the man who called President Trump a ‘piece of sh*t’ on Twitter. Despite initial resistance, CNN has finally done the right thing…”
Progressive liberals and the mainstream media aren’t coping well with the consequences of rationality being used against their tactics. Simply put, they are suffering the backlash of tried-and-true American wisdom launched back at them. Their believe-ability ratings continue to hover around all time lows. Even the Media Bias Fact Check had to revise their description of the network:
“CNN has a left bias in reporting and sometimes uses sensational headlines,” they report. “CNN typically sources its news sources. Do not confuse CNN’s talk shows with actual reporting of news. Further, they have failed numerous fact checks from Politifact.”
CNN had to correct and update their reporting because of former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony before Congress Thursday. Perhaps it was Donald Trump Jr., when commenting Comey’s testimony before Congress Thursday, who had the most accurate and intelligent retweet of all:
“Unlike Clinton, where Comey laid out why she was guilty and then let her off, he lays out Trump’s innocence, and concludes he is guilty.”
“Since the new administration arrived in Washington, CNN has continued this war at a fever pitch,” wrote The Federalist’s Ben Domenech. “Daily they roll out eight-person panels where not one person defending the administration is represented. They have offered the most biased coverage of the Trump administration by far…A network that once strove to be centrist in their approach is now openly antagonistic, and will run with the thinnest of scoops for hours at a time in order to make their case against President Trump.”
Aslan’s CNN documentary series program, Believer, was criticized by Indian-American and American Hindus earlier this year. Aslan ate human brains with members of the Aghori, an extreme fringe sect of Hinduism. Americans and citizens of India said Aslan and CNN misrepresented Indian religious traditions and stirred up racism and xenophobia against them.
Industrialist Shalabh Kumar told the Press Trust of India that Aslan’s report was “a disgusting attack on Hinduism” and tweeted “CNN, Clinton News Network has no respect for Hindus. All Hindus worldwide should boycott CNN.”
Occupy CNN Protests
Booting Aslan out of CNN was the second major termination this month. Comedian Kathy Griffin was canned after the humorless video of her holding a severed head depicting President Trump was released. Threatened with boycotts of her live performances and overwhelming angry social media response, Griffin released a video apology, “I beg for your forgiveness. I went too far. I made a mistake and I was wrong.” All of Griffin’s upcoming appearances scheduled for 2017 were cancelled due to outraged ticket holders wanting their money back.
In April 2016, hundreds of Bernie Sanders held an “Occupy CNN” protest outside of CNN Los Angeles office when it became apparent the network was heavily favoring Hillary Clinton in the presidential campaign.
Just one month before the November elections, CNN was forced to end their relationship with their contributor Donna Brazile when it was discovered she fed questions to Clinton prior to their hosted presidential Town Hall debate.
The network was embarrassed during 2016 live election coverage when CNN reporter Chris Cumo falsely proclaimed that downloading John Podesta emails from Wikileaks was illegal and only the media could legally do so.
While other journalists declined to publish and report unverifiable information that had been fed to them from liberal propagandists, on January 10, 2017, CNN reported the existence of a Russian dossier that compromised personal and financial information about Trump. Jumping the gun cost CNN major credibility problems when it was learned it was “fake news.”
Fox News commentator Sean Hannity calls CNN, the “Clinton News Network” is undergoing a “massive credibility crisis.” He said CNN engages in “extremely ideological, one-sided, mean-spirited, and often downright nasty coverage of President Trump, his staff, and even his 11-year-old son, his wife, his daughter and family.”
Referring to Aslan’s tweet, Hannity asked, “If I tweeted the same thing about President Obama when he was in office, you think the Clinton-Soros group would be calling for my head and once again attacking my advertisers?”
Last week, the USAA financial services firm announced they were reinstating its advertising on Sean Hannity’s Fox News Channel program after military members and veterans threatened boycotts. Many began taking their business elsewhere for USAA’s initial decision to pull such ads. When members flooded USAA with complaints, they attempted to spin it away with an excuse of not wanting to advertising on “opinion shows.” This was soon dispelled when it was discovered USAA was running ad in liberal news and opinion programs.
“We begin with Rachel Maddow who has been the biggest purveyor of lies and propaganda in the media today.”
The conservative Media Equality Project has now organized the #StoptheScalpings campaign to boycott the liberal Rachel Maddow show “to push back against the attempt to silence those who dare to ask tough questions and pursue the truth.” The group says “the DNC, mainstream media, George Soros, and Media Matters” have attempted “to silence [Hannity’s] voice, because it does not speak in unison with their own…As long as Media Matters continues to attack conservatives, we will return them the same kindness. We begin with Rachel Maddow who has been the biggest purveyor of lies and propaganda in the media today.”
