Sponsored by Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr. Ben Carson Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos and others, the White House has organized a once-a-week Bible study attended by some of President Donald Trump’s top cabinet members.

Mike Pompeo, said Pastor Ralph Drollinger, former NBA and founder of Capitol Ministries. “They are so teachable; they’re so noble; they’re so learned.”

Other sponsors and attendees include Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue, Secretary of Energy Rick Perry, CIA Director Mike Pompeo, Secretary of Health and Human Services Dr. Tom Price, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Vice President Pence plans to join in as soon as his schedule allows, according to Christian Broadcasting News (CBN), President Trump receives a copy of each week’s lessons.

It’s been over 100 years since a formal Bible study with such prominent leaders has occurred Drollinger said. “These are godly individuals that God has risen to a position of prominence in our culture,” he commented to CBN.

Drollinger praised Sessions for going “out the same day I teach him something and I’ll see him do it on camera and I just think, ‘Wow, these guys are faithful, available and teachable and they’re at Bible study every week they’re in town.’”

During a May 2017 speech to Christian leaders in Washington, D.C., Vice President Pence indicated that Christians are among the most persecuted religious groups in the world. The event was the first World Summit in Defense of Persecuted Christians, organized by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Pence was refreshingly not concerned about stirring up a frenzy of “politically correct” attacks from the liberal media when he stated, “The Bible tells us: ‘All who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.’ “

Pence expressed that Christians are “emblematic of millions across the world” who have been able to persevere “through the crucible of persecution.”

“You refused to be conformed to this world,” the Vice President continued. “You have chosen instead to be counted with those outside the city gate for your faith. And by your life, you bear witness to the truth that brings us together here at this summit.”

“Christian faith is under siege,” Pence said, and that “no people of faith today face greater hostility and hatred than followers of Christ.”

Pence stated that President Donald Trump has “made it clear that America will stand by followers of Christ in this hour of need. Our administration is fully committed to bringing relief and comfort to believers not only across the Middle East but across the world.”

“The president knows that terrorists will not stop unless we stop them,” Pence added. “Under President Donald Trump, we will stop them. We will not rest. We will not relent until we hunt down and destroy ISIS at its source.”

Before Pence addressed the gathering, Rev. Franklin Graham told the leaders, “What I appreciate so much about our vice president is his strong faith in God and his belief in Jesus Christ as the son of God. As a nation, we are very fortunate to have a president that believes in God and a vice president who strongly supports all of us in the church and is not afraid to express his faith.”

Previously, Rev. Graham stated, “It’s very encouraging to know that members of the president’s cabinet gather weekly for prayer. Vice President Mike Pence and eight others sponsor the sessions. Former NBA player Ralph Drollinger who leads the Bible study said, ‘In terms of a country’s health and direction, when its leaders are seeking God, the nation is in a position to be blessed by God in ways that are ‘far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think.’ He’s absolutely right.”
